Screen Test Influenza A/B is a rapid qualitative test for self-diagnostic use that can detect influenza type A (including H1N1) and type B nucleoprotein antigen by extraction of a nasal swab or pharyngeal swab. The product serves as an aid in determining infection to influenza type A and B viruses.

How to use

  • Nasal swab specimen: Take out the sterile swab provided. Tilt the head backward to the 70° angle. Gently insert the swab into the nostril showing the most secretion. Gently push the pad until resistance is achieved at the level of the turbinate. Rotate the swab against the nasal wall a few times. The test works best if the sample is tested immediately after collection.

  • Pharyngeal swab specimen: Take out the sterile swab provided. Open the mouth pull the tongue out, press the tongue down with a spoon if necessary. Rub the swab over both tonsillar surfaces and the posterior pharynx. Avoid touching the tongue, cheeks and teeth. The test works best if the sample is tested immediately after collection.

  • Transfer all the reagent (about 0.4ml) from the bottle to the test tube.

  • Place the swab with which you collected the sample in the tube and rotate the swab 10 times by pressing the tip of the swab against the inside of the tube to release the sample.

  • Crush the swab head against the inside of the tube to remove as much liquid as possible from the swab during removal. Discard the swab.
  • Cap the tube and mix the contents by gently shaking. The sample should be tested quickly after extraction.
  • Remove the test from the sealed aluminum pouch by tearing the notch. Put 3~4 drops (80μl~100μl) of the sample extracted from the tube into the appropriate well (with an arrow marked) of the test panel by inverting and squeezing the tube as shown in the instructions.

  • Read the test results after 15~20 minutes. Do not read the test results after 30 minutes.
